U.S. Office of Special Counsel Says Retweets = Endorsement

Noah Bookbinder of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington filed a complaint with against U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley for violating the Hatch Act. President Donald Trump tweeted a statement endorsing then-candidate Ralph Norman and Ambassador Haley retweeted the post. The Office of Special Counsel determined that Ambassador Haley’s use of Twitter was a violation of the act.
