On Friday, August 18th, the Trump Administration fired chief strategist Stephen K. Bannon, who helped Trump win the 2016 election.
Bannon had clashed with other Senior West Wing advisers, the White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement today:
“White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and Steve Bannon have mutually agreed today would be Steve’s last day. We are grateful for his service and wish him the best.”
The president had told senior aides that he had decided to remove Mr. Bannon, according to two administration officials who briefed this morning. Mr. Bannon has insisted that him leaving was his idea, and he also claimed to have submitted his regulations on August 7th. The violence in Charlottesville last week delayed the resignation.
Bannon is a right-wing nationalist and former Executive Chairman of Breitbart News. Who became a part of the Trump administration after being the architect of Trumps victory. Mr. Bannon has received a lot of accusations of being a racist; human rights activist have demanded the president fire so called nationalists like Bannon in the White House.
On Tuesday Trump even defended Mr. Bannon as “not a racist”, and “a friend”, but he refused to guarantee his job security.
“We’ll see what happens with Mr. Bannon,” the President said.
The populist movement that helped Trump win the election would be at risk if he were to leave the White House, is what Bannon reportedly told several Associates the other day.
The White House loses yet another member today, and probably its most controversial member. There is no telling if this was the right move by the administration or the wrong move, but one things for sure. There is a lot of chaos, and no one knows what’s going to happen next.

Update 8/18/2017: Bannon back at Breitbart
Shortly after his dismissal or alleged pre planned resignation. Bannon has quickly taken back his position of Executive Chairman of Breitbart News. It is possible that Breitbart’s reporting could take a more negative turn in relation to stories on President Trump.
Just as he played a major role in putting President Trump in power. Could he next play a major role in putting Trump down in the polls within his own constituency?
